And we danced

His chest, my glory road
His eyes, my way to heaven
We spun
I felt so safe
But time betrayed
My sweet intentions
He looked in my eyes
And we let go
Oh, how I longed
To be his love
And I felt
A gentle kiss
Against my cheek
And his breath upon me
I wish those words
You say to her
Were meant for me

I wish that touch
I could feel
For all my years
That are left to come
I wish this dance
Would lead your hands
Onto my waist

The rhythm of our hearts
Breaks this silence apart
